Janie is a 2002 graduate of Northwest University in Kirkland, WA where, after the death of her husband in 1997, she earned a BA in Music and a Certificate to Teach English as a Second Language. In 2003, Janie moved to Beijing, China where she spent six years teaching ESL to university students. Her students often referred to her as their “American Mom”. She also assisted in the worship ministries of her church there. She began singing solos at the age of three and continues to minister through music. She has been a Minister of Music, choir director, and piano teacher for more than 30 years and is an inspirational speaker and teacher of God’s Word. Janie is a self-employed piano teacher and ESL tutor. She is a member of the Evangelical Chinese Church of Tacoma and assists with the worship and the outreach ministry to Chinese international students in the Tacoma area where she has lived since returning from China. Janie is a member of Northwest Christian Writers Association. She has three children and three grandchildren.
